There are two ways your plastic surgeon can place the calf implants:

• Subcutaneous: The calf implant goes just beneath the connective tissue between your skin and gastrocnemius calf muscle.
• Submuscular: The calf implant goes under your gastrocnemius calf muscle, making for a slightly longer.

Walking may be uncomfortable at first but it is good for recovery because the blood flows in the lower leg.  The complete recovery will take about two week and you can resume your normal activity after six weeks.

You should keep your legs elevated while lying down or sitting. Apply ice pack to your legs and you should take antibiotics as prescribed by your doctor.

Results from calf implants are immediately noticeable. Still, it can take several months for the swelling to subside completely. By then, you should be able to see the full effects.
