According to the prosthesis design the carpal is being placed in the remaining row of carpal bones. The joint capsules are sutured in the last, the muscles and the tendons are repaired and kept back in place. At last the incision are closed and a wrist bandage is being applied.

Complete recovery of wrist joint replacement takes around three to four months, some patients wear cast for few weeks after surgery and after that they wear splints for eight weeks. Other than it you may need physical therapy to improve your movement and wrist strength after surgery.

The recovery after wrist surgery takes around four to twelve weeks, most people get healed within a month and they can start their rehabilitation after that. During your healing period you should wear your braces and casts as told by your surgeon
