• Four year old Lara from Yemen suffered from a lenticular adhesion syndrome, a rare congenital eye disease.
  • Due to such a syndrome her iris and lens stuck to each other as cataract obstructed her vision.
  • The syndrome further led to the development of second grade glaucoma.
  • Initially she had to undergo two eye surgeries at the age of one that although corrected her vision but not glaucoma.
  • The prolonged treatment in Egypt for two years worsened her condition.
  • According to cataract surgeon and medical retina expert at Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital, Dr. Bindya Hapani, the tendency of her eyes to shrink increased the complexity of her treatment.
  • In order to fix such a condition, her delicate and minute eye tissues required multiple interventions.
