In West Africa, the prevalence of malnutrition, poor hygiene, environmental and water supply contamination, and endemic communicable diseases make healthcare a luxury rather than a basic necessity. In countries like Liberia and Sierra Leone, people suffer from high mortality and morbidity, a result of a combination of poor living conditions and lack of quality health care.
In view of these adverse conditions, Vaidam Health organized a successful medical camp in Liberia and Sierra Leone. The camps were conducted in association with Dr. Sridev M B (Cancer Surgeon) and Dr. R. Mahesh Karthik (Orthopedic and Joint Replacement Surgeon), both practicing at MIOT International Hospital, Chennai, India.
In Sierra Leone, the camp was conducted on the 20th and 21st of November, 2023, while in Liberia, it was conducted on the 22nd and 23rd of November, 2023.
Our team member Andy was present at the camp the whole time to help and assist the patients. Patients expressed satisfaction with the medical camp and gratitude for the opportunity to consult with international experts.
