I am Jean Cyril from Mauritius. I am 48 years old.

What brought you to India?

I was diagnosed with a cerebellar tumor in 2017.  As I can clearly remember, my problems started on 4th May with slight numbness and tingling. Not only this, I lost my senses of the left side of my face, and also my fingers. I also started to lose balance. After a detailed consultation with a neurologist in Mauritius, I was put on a medication called Betasec two times a day. This would relieve my symptoms, but did not cure the disease. So, I decided to visit India to seek a permanent solution.

How did you choose the hospital for your checkup?

While I was looking for some of the top neurosurgeons in India, somebody told me about Vaidam Health. I posted a query on their website and received a call back from one of their case managers. She helped me with the list of topmost doctors and their profiles. She also got me a few hospital opinions and associated quotes.

How was your visit to India arranged?

After I decided to visit the Apollo Hospital, Chennai. The case manager helped me to get the Visa Invitation Letter from the hospital. The visa application process was also done by the Vaidam team. I only had to give my information. Other than this, the accommodation was also arranged by the team as per my preferences. My pickup and drop off from the airport was also arranged by team members. They facilitated my trip very smoothly.

What was your experience at the hospital?

After I arrived in India, I was picked up from the airport and my appointment was scheduled with Dr. Ballamurugan. He took a detailed medical history and heard me patiently. He conducted the physical examination advised further investigations.  After the reports came back, the doctor explained to me the treatment that I would require. Rest of the days were spent in receiving the treatment at the hospital and a few days were given for my recovery.

Tell us about your overall experience of the visit.

My entire visit was great. Everything was arranged by Vaidam and went on systematically. It was hassle-free. Moreover, the treatment in the hospital went well and successful. The entire staff was co-operative and sensitive to all my requirements. Thanks to the team and the hospital for the support.
