Nicholas Bimha from Zimbabwe Successfully Undergoes Bypass Surgery in India

Nicholas Bimha from Zimbabwe visited India to get bypass surgery done. Read the complete story to read about his journey to India.

Reason for visiting India

As per Nicholas, he started having breathlessness, fatigue, and chest pain a while back. Once he consulted a doctor near his home, came to know that he had a blockage in one of the arteries and would need surgery. Since there are limited resources in Zimbabwe and the prices are high, he chose to visit India to get the best treatment.

Choice of the hospital

Later, while searching on the internet, he found out about Vaidam Health. He posted a query and got a call back from one of the case managers, Heena Mehta. She provided a list of the best cardiac surgery hospitals in India. She also arranged some hospital opinions and the associated cost packages. Soon, he decided to go for Artemis hospital, Gurgaon.

Arrival in India

“Vaidam sped up the process for me, which I really needed”.

The case manager arranged a Visa Invitation Letter from the hospital. A team member from Vaidam applied my visa application form. He received the visa within 72 hours on his email ID. Finally, he was in India on 18th March. After his arrival, he was picked up from the airport, taken to the hotel and then taken to the hospital to meet the doctor.

Experience in the hospital

At the scheduled time, met Dr Murtaza Chisti at the hospital. He listened patiently and asked a few questions. Then, he was sent for further investigations. After the reports came back, the doctor recommended that he confirmed that Nicholas would CABG. After pre-surgical preparations and routine examination, the surgery took place successfully. He stayed in the hospital for a week. Before the discharge, I was explained in detail about the lifestyle changes I need to make in the future.
