Isaias Jaime from Mozambique was worried about the continuous flank pain that afflicted his 50 years old father Jaime Leonor. Isaias fixed an appointment with the doctor back home in Mozambique. After multiple medical tests, he came to know that his father was suffering from Pelvic Ureteric Junction on the right section. In Pelvic-Ureteric Junction calculus (PUJ), part of the kidney is blocked. This blockage can slow or stop (in extreme cases) the flow of urine out of the kidney, which can damage the kidney. This causes extreme pain and blood secretion in the urine. “All I wished was betterment of my father’s health. I started searching for the best medical consultants who can guide me to a suitable hospital and a leading nephrologist in India. This is when I decided to approach Vaidam”, stated Isaias.
“I sent my father’s medical tests to Heena, my case manager. Within 24 hours, I received a list of hospitals and doctors in India as well as list of hotels where I could stay”. From the list of options provided, Isaias decided to go with BLK Super Specialty Hospital, New Delhi. On the same day an appointment for 23 January was fixed. “The doctor said that my father needed operation. During the explanations, there were many medical terms that were spoken of, like - Left Epididymal Cyst excision and left Varicocele Ligation. I was very skeptical after hearing this; however, I was hopeful”.
Both Jaime and his son - Isaias arrived in New Delhi on 22 January and were greeted by the operations team member at the airport. The father-son duos were taken to Hotel Singh Sons to relax after their long journey.
“I remember the day we visited Dr. Hardev Bhatyal. On the way to the hospital, there were thousands of thoughts running through my mind - both positive and negative. But I made sure that that tension did not reflect on my face. After briefly telling us about the impending operation, doctor began the surgery. That half-and-hour of surgery was really tense; there were negative thoughts in mind but I constantly forced myself to think about good thoughts. After surgery, the doctor came out of the operation theatre and told me that everything was fine. I took a sigh of relief. The next few days passed very quickly and we were pleasantly enjoying our stay in India. We wanted to visit the Vaidam team in Gurgaon and decided to spend the day visiting the office and meeting team members. The feeling was great since we finally got to meet the people behind our visit- from Mozambique to India. One day before our flight back to Mozambique, we made a final visit to the doctor who said that my father was fit-to-fly home.”
Before leaving for his home country, Jaime Leonor shared a few words, “I cannot say enough about my experience. To my surprise, in a span of 15 days, I was back home and recovering quickly. All thanks to my son and the Vaidam team who helped us to find the best kidney hospital in India”.
