Kritanand Suroop, a citizen of Mauritius, was seemingly healthy as he could be. He was having good job and loved boating and fishing in his spare time. Life was great until one day.
He applied for a life insurance policy and was refused. “Mine policy request was rejected due to high PSA (prostate-specific antigen) level in my blood”, says Kritanand. He went to see the urologist and found out he had prostate cancer. “Hearing the cancer word was like getting a death sentence to me. Before cancer was detected, I had no clue of prostate cancer and had no symptoms”, he says.
In the following weeks after his diagnosis, he remained quiet. He was so deep in worry and anxiety that he forgot his way to home from office. He collected himself up and started searching for best treatment yet affordable. He stop by Vaidam and shared his medical reports. The very next day, he got revert from Vaidam’s representative who took care of his case.
His medical reports were shared with best urology hospitals in India and quote was shared with him soon after. The doctor recommended him Transurethral Resection of bladder tumor. Out of many hospital options, he decided to go with Apollo Hospital, Chennai.
Kritanand’s appointment was fixed for 18th July, 2019 with Dr. Nitesh Jain. He was accompanied to the hotel by Vaidam’s executive and arrangements were made to the hospital as well. His surgery was started next day and the tumor was removed. In the procedure, a scope was inserted through the urethra into the bladder and then the tumor was removed. His surgery was successful and was discharged from the hospital next day.
Now back in his home country, he says, “I was a patient who had the great fortune of finding Vaidam who’ve taken care of me and having a family who’ve helped me to stay positive through it all.”
