Recent Study Has Shown a Steady Decline of Breast Cancer Across Several Countries

• According to a recent research, a steady decline is observed in breast cancer mortality rates across many many nations.
• The study's lead author, Cecile Pizot has said that this comparison of mortality rates between several countries has helped to monitor the efficiency of the healthcare systems as well.
• The team calculated the mortality rates by accummulating data of the years 1987-2013 from the World Health Organization database.
• On an average, breast cancer mortality rates has evidently reduced over the years in 39 out of 47 countries.
• England and Wales experienced the steepest decline of a 46 per cent.
• United States has the highest breast cancer mortality rate with the statistics of 5.3 per 100,000 women followed by South Korea where 14 per 100,000 women are inflicted by and die of breast cancer.
• On a global scale, breast cancer mortality has declined more prominently amongst women who are under the age of 50 rather than over.
