SIMS Hospital Launches Ceramic Knee Replacement System

• The Asian Orthopaedic Institute (AOI) at SIMS Hospital has introduced a new ceramic knee replacement system.
• Ceramic knee implants have the advantages of enhanced biocompatibility, reduced bacterial adhesion, and hypoallergenic properties.
• These knee implants can be a solution for metal hypersensitivity.
• Dr. P. Suryanarayan, Orthopaedic Surgeon at AOI, said, "Ceramic knee replacements represent a significant advancement in joint replacement surgery, adding another dimension to the frequently performed knee replacement procedures." 
• Dr. Vijay C. Bose, Orthopaedic Surgeon at AOI, said, "The advanced material offers a smoother articulation, same as a natural knee movement."
• The launch was followed by a masterclass and a demonstration surgery.
