Liberia, a country with a rich history, has made progress in healthcare, but access to specialised care remains a challenge for many. This gap often limits the quality of treatment available to its citizens. To close this gap, Vaidam Health organised a transformative two-day medical camp at Cooper Hospital in Monrovia on April 16th and 17th, 2025, in partnership with Amrita Hospital in Faridabad, India.
With over 50 patients in attendance, the camp proved to be a priceless opportunity for those in need of skilled medical treatment in areas that frequently struggle with a shortage of specialist doctors.
Expert Care by Dr. Anandh and Dr. Anil
Dr. Anandh Balasubramaniam is a distinguished neurosurgeon from Amrita Hospital. With over 25 years of experience, he has addressed a range of neurological conditions related to the brain and spinal cord, such as brain tumours, hydrocephalus, cysts in the brain, and epilepsy. He provides patients with advanced diagnostic assessments and treatment recommendations.
Dr. Anil Sharma is a skilled urologist with over 15 years of experience. He has assisted patients suffering from conditions like kidney stones, prostate issues, urinary tract infections, and male infertility. His compassionate approach ensured that each patient felt heard and well cared for.
Patient Feedback
Patients welcomed the opportunity to access specialised care without having to leave their country. Many expressed relief at finally getting accurate insights into their long-standing health problems. The attendees' overwhelming favourable comments confirmed the importance of introducing international medical knowledge to underprivileged areas.
A Vision for the Future
Following the success of the Liberia camp, Vaidam Health and Amrita Hospital are actively considering more such collaborations. By organising similar medical outreach programs, they hope to bridge healthcare gaps and ensure that high-quality care reaches more communities in need.
