Labiaplasty is done for increasing the size of labia minora which is the inner tissue of the female genital so that it becomes compatible with labia majora which is the outer part of female genitalia. The process uses different surgical techniques according to the condition of patient.

The submucosa (layer tissue beneath a mucous membrane) must be left intact by removing only a partial thickness. Labiaplasty is done both under local and general anaesthesia and it takes around one hour to complete the surgery.

You may undergo some presurgical tests including blood work, urinalysis and chest X-ray.  You will be given instructions about eating, drinking and medications before surgery.

Labiaplasty of the inner lips is to reduce the excess tissue by removing a wedge-shaped section from the centre and bringing together the top and bottom. This technique keeps the normal labial edge. The excess skin and/or fat are surgically removed. The surgical technique involves trimming off the excess skin or flesh then over sewing the edge.
