About Dr. Khong Kok Sun
- Dr. Khong Kok Sun is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 40 years of expertise.
- Services provided by him includes joint reconstruction and replacement, musculoskeletal tumor surgery, orthopedic traume and sports surgery.
- Dr. Khong received his medical degree from the NUS Faculty of Medicine (1977). He earned his Master of Medicine and was a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Glasgow) (General Surgery).
- As an adjunct associate professor at the National University of Singapore, he also serves on the faculties of universities in the United States, Switzerland, and Singapore (NUS). Other positions he had were expert consultant to Zimmer Inc (USA) and lieutenant colonel while serving in the military and in charge of a Combat Surgical Hospital. He served as the President of the Singapore Orthopedic Association in 2004 and was a member of the Singapore Armed Forces' Specialist Medical Board (Orthopedics) and the Advisory Committee for Orthopedic Surgery (MOH).
- Dr. Khong worked at the Singapore General Hospital and Alexandra Hospital before receiving a government scholarship to Mayo Clinic (USA) to complete his training as the first surgeon to conduct musculoskeletal tumour surgery in Singapore. This was prior to entering private practise. Later, the Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, USA, gave him a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma.
- Dr. Khong Kok Sun is fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay, and Cantonese.
