He completed his MBBS from the University of Kashmir in 1987, MS in Orthopaedics from Gulbarga University, in 1992 and MCh in Orthopaedics, in 1999.
He got Diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from the UK in 2001, MFSEM, Faculty of Sports and Medical Science from the UK, in 2007, and FFSEM, Faculty of Sports and Exercise Medicine from Ireland, in 2007.
He is an active member of the Indian Association of Sports Medicine and the Indian Arthroscopy Society.
