- After one year of research as a fellow, he went to Switzerland for two years of postdoctorate study at the Department of physical chemistry of Zurich University and also earned a Ph.D. in physical chemistry from the Albert Ludwig Freiburg University.
- Dr. Hennig has received several awards such as the European Magnetic Resonance Award in 1992; the Kernspintomographie Preis in 1993; the Gold Medal of the Society of Magnetic Resonance in 1994, etc.
- He has been invited to be an Honorary Lecturer of the European Congress of Radiology and also writes articles for national as well as international journals.
