Eligibility for Medical Visa from Congo to India

Medical visa is only granted to those whose only purpose to travel to another is medical treatment.
Patient should seek treatment at a recognized/reputed/specialized hospital/healthcare center in India.
The patient is allowed with maximum two medical attendants to accompany him/her. They can be his/her family members or close associates.
Serious ailments like neurosurgery, joint replacements ophthalmic disorders, renal disorders, cardiac problems, congenital disorders, organ transplantations, radiotherapy, plastic surgery, gene therapy and others are of primary considerations in granting a medical visa. The list of treatments is non-exhaustive.

Important Documents Required for Indian Medical Visa Application from Congo

Original passport effective for minimum 6 months.
Copy of national Identity Card. In case of a foreigner, a copy of residence permit is required.
Two recent passport size photographs with full front view of the face. The applicant should not wear dark/colored glasses in the photographs. Click here to know more about photograph requirements.
Completely filled and signed online visa application form.
Medical documents/medical reports of the applicant so as to establish the requirement of a medical treatment. Local hospital/doctor’s reference.
Bank statement/salary certificate to prove the availability of sufficient funds to incur all the medical and itinerary expenses in India.
Sponsorship letter, if the medical trip of the applicant is sponsored by his/her acquaintances.
Letter of admission from the concerned hospital/doctor in India stating details about the medical treatment, the patient’s name and the medical attendant’s name.
Yellow Fever Vaccination Card should be carried by nationals of DR Congo, ROC, Gabon and CAR.

A letter of introduction is required to be submitted by the nationals of Morocco, Nigeria, Angola, Tanzania, Canada and Kenya.

Application Procedure of Indian Medical Visa from Congo

The form consists of two pages and two parts: A and B. It is to be filled in block letters.
Fill up the important credentials in the first page (Part A): your name, birth date, place and nationality, passport number and its date and place of issue, nationality, father's name and spouse's name with their respective nationalities, present address, permenant address and profession.
In case any children are accompanying you, provide details about:
- His/her Name
- Place and date of birth
- Sex
- Relationship with the applicant
- Identification marks (if any)
Name the places if you have ever visited India previously and mention whether visit to India or visa extension in the country has ever been rejected.
In the second page, provide visa details:
- Period for which visa is required
- Date of arrival in India
- Date of departure in India
- Complete address and phone numbers of the accommodation where you will be staying in India
- Type of visa (Single / Double / Triple / Multiple entries)
- Object of journey [mention the name of the hospital in (15b) Medical Visa]
In part B of the application form, give information about:
- Whether you hold 'No Objection to Return' endorsement. Provide the particulars if you do so.
- Destination in India
- Port of landing in India
- Provide references from your country as well as from India
- If you travel to India for your treatment only through Vaidam’s assistance but do not have a reference in India, then you can provide Vaidam’s office address and contact number of patient relations as mentioned here.
At the end of the second page write your name in the section of undertaking, mention the date, your e-mail id and phone no. and sign.
Finally, submit the application form along with the required documents at the Mission Counter during the working hours.

Indian Medical Visa Processing Fee

The medical visa processing fee from Congo to India is USD 80 for 6 months and USD 120 for up to a year. An extra USD 2 is added to the visa fees to ICWF as service charges.

If the applicant is not a resident of Democratic Republic of Congo or Gabon or Central Africa Republic then an extra amount of USD 25 is charged. Additional documents may further be required and visa processing may take longer.

Medical Visa Extension

Visa extension is required when one needs more time for his or her recovery that goes beyond his departure date from India. In that case the patient requires an official letter from the concerned hospital authority stating his/her ailment, treatment procedure and the number of days he/she would take to recover completely to go back to his/her own country. The applicant has to go to the FRRO office with the letter and the required documents to extend his/her stay in the country.

Foreign Regional Registration Office controls the registration, departure visa extension and other nuances of the foreign nationals regarding their passports, visa and their stay in India. Foreigners have to register themselves in the FRRO office once they arrive in India. Below is mentioned the documents that are required for FRRO registration:
